We updated the site a lot from a technical SEO perspective, created strategic content and both analyzed and built many high-quality links to specific pages internally. Over the course of nine months, the website traffic went from 2000 unique visitors a month to well over 25,000. We were also able to generate 200+ new backlinks to this client’s URL. But how did this affect the bottom line? This client has noted that there has been a 300 percent increase in new leads and a 150 percent increase in new revenue opportunities compared to the second quarter of last year.”
What is your best advice you ever received in business?
“Don’t let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning.”
What do you believe is the main quality which makes an agency really excellent?
“Results. I think staffing, onboarding and culture are all important too. However, your clients are hiring you to ultimately generate more revenue for them. Being able to consistently do that in a space that is continuously changing due to algorithm updates, trends, economic fluctuations etc is truly a testament of your skill as a marketer.”
Any forecasts for the future of SEO?
“Google is going to continue to focus on delivering the best results to its users. This means that the focus on SEO may not be as honed in on actual website property optimization in the future as it would be on one’s personal or company online brand, perception and visibility through mediums like voice search or whatever cool new device we use in the future to search Google.”
What is the response when you hear “SEO is dying”? )
“My first reaction is that whoever said that truly doesn’t have a good understanding of what’s happening in the space.”
What do you believe is the most significant contributor to keeping customers contented?
“Communication. Even if it’s through automated pings, a monthly check-in or an occasional handwritten letter. Just letting them know that you are both working towards the same goals by showing them the results and speaking their language goes a long way.”
