Thomas is the creator and lead consultant at JourneyEngine.com, a content marketing, SEO and analytics service for business-to-business (B2B), software as a service (SaaS) and digital agencies. Since 2009, he has been supplying digital marketing consulting companies in Los Angeles, where he resides with his wife and 2-year-old daughter.

What do you state is exceptional and/or hard about the Los Angeles SEO market?

What do you believe is the main quality which makes an agency really excellent?

“A fantastic service doesn’t sell customers services that they do not need just because they could, but excels in providing a particular answer to a certain issue.  Great bureaus can recognize customers who’ll benefit the maximum and provide their answer to them, at large scale. 

“If you are not 100 percentage convinced you can supply the alternative, do not take the deal. Focus on providing customers just what they desire and ruthlessly cut the remainder out of your supply. I feel that is the best way to construct lifelong relationships”

Any forecasts for the future of SEO?

“The potential of SEO is all about unique content and clever marketing. The times of ‘hacks’ have been gone. Google’s objective is to surface the content that most matches a searcher’s purpose and nothing else. If you struggle Google onto this, you are likely to lose . So perform their match!

“If you would like to win at SEO the formulation is quite straightforward. You have to invest in content which answers your client’s questions better than every other business. Then, encourage the hell out of the content — in a real manner.”

What is the response when you hear “SEO is dying”? )

“My response is sympathy as I presume the man who says that this will blow off a whole lot of money on marketing with little results to show or won’t ever get the attention that their business should compete. If that you aren’t keen to invest what is needed to compete in SEO and content marketing then you likely should not be investing in marketing whatsoever. We have case studies from businesses of all ages and sizes (like my own) to show that point.”

What do you believe is the most significant contributor to keeping customers contented?

“Two entities:

  1. An alternative that disturbs their customer’s issue — and more
  2. The procedure to deliver that option, in large scale
